Magical Monday Moment....

Jet's new pride 'n' joy won for him by his very proud father in a Queensland Flood Charity Golf Day last Friday, complete with his two left hand irons and one right hand purely because he has not yet decided which is his main hand, so swings away with both!

(Mind the wall paper!!!! That is a whole other post all in itself!)

Shoe Box...What Shoe Box?

Dining Area (Old Kitchen)

New Kitchen (Old Dining)

Downstairs window (Old main bedroom)

Today I had a little moment.

I am not going to lie, things are a little tight with the reno/mortgage, rent, daycare life expenses etc, etc.... and at times it gets me a little stressed, a little on edge and a little worried. I know we're not the only ones feeling the pinch so I am not going to whinge and in reality we put ourselves in this position... but today we did a little drive by on our way to soccer and that was all I needed. Things are back in perspective and I can almost, almost see the light at the end of the tunnel. I cannot wait to make this place our home and finally give my little boys there very own decorated rooms with their own 'stuff'!

Hope you are all enjoying your weekend!!!

Winter Wish List....

Cheap thrills.... check! Done and dusted:-)

After a trip to the shops today and a quick glimpse in a few of my fav stores (very quick when you have two little boys who are not keen on any stores that don't house, toy lawn mowers, lollypops or playgrounds!) it got me thinking... Winter. I know it is still 30 degrees most days but I am a dreamer and an organiser... so here is my lust after items for the cooler months ahead.

I am still needing some colour to be added and am on the hunt for the perfect pair of jeans after being in maternity ones last year!!!

Happy Friday Lovelies.

Cheap Thrills I am Lusting After....

Hermes as seen here

Hermes as seen here

I am dreaming of Hermes but my budget is saying Kmart! Right now I am actually loving some of the cheap, chic home wares available at less the a 600ml Coke Zero! The coffee cup I am running for... I can see the red semi circle ones sitting the tone on the open shelves of the kitchen. The pop of red will work well with the theme of the entrance and some cushions that I have my eye on. Not all red just some little pops.

Destiny

Sass & Bide and their move to Myer

Jet and Brodie's first day of school for the year.

My much loved Rav that I said goodbye to in August to house our growing family.

Today on my way home from school, en route to pick up two of my three favorite boys (Brad clearly does not go to daycare!) I got thinking.... is this my destiny? Am I living my dream or is there more?

At 26 I could tick off every goal I had as a 16 year old. Uni degree... check, healthy social life.... check, married... check, baby... check, PE teacher... check, travelled around the world... check, taught abroad... check, home.... check, Rav 4.... check, wonderful family and friends... check, you really get my gist .. but my point is I had dreams, aspirations and a destiny. I knew what I wanted and went about getting each and every element. But sitting in the car on the way home (3 years older and wiser!) doing what I do every Wednesday afternoon, I had a sliding door moment. What if this is not my destiny? Is there something else out there waiting for me? Is it time to shift into the other lane put my foot down and just go for it? Don't get me wrong, I love my life and I love what I do but the creative side of me bubbles and at times wants to burst... hence the reno. For the moment it is my creative outlet, the design aspect, the transformation, the creation, the dream. Could I turn it into something more... maybe some developing or interior design consultation or an online store to house every homey thing that I lust after to save me paying all the shipping to everyone else when I finally am able to dress the shoe box! Is this where I am headed? Hmmmmmmmmm.....

For now... I am staying in my lane, I will bubble but it will be contained. I will watch my two lovelies grow into gorgeous energectic fast paced boys. When I get a moment, probably whilst on the side of a soccer feild around Brisbane, I will have a light bulb moment, set my new goals and put the foot down!

I would love to hear if you are following your destiny or if you have been brave enough to change lanes!

Hello Monday...

Today for the first time in 5 weeks I hit the ground running on a Monday at work highly organised with my lessons laid out on my desk (since last Wednesday), my USB full with essentials for my new best freind.... the mounted projectors in every classroom (perfect for PE visuals) and my photo copies ready. I was armed... I was prepared and boy did my kids work. I was so very proud of them especially in this heat! I did have one of those...I love my job moments today! After 7 years, which has included two pregnancy's, two maternity leaves and a 12 month unpaid leave working in London, it is so refreshing to have those wonderful .. I love my job moments!

It got me thinking of all the things I am loving right now.

1. My gorgeous husband and fabulously energetic little boys.

2. Ju Ju Hats
3. Custom Jewelery (seriously... can you ever have enough!!!)

4. Ikat cushions

5. Summer (I know it was scorcher today but before we know it we will be in our jeans and anoraks again:-()

And... just because...

I Dream of Kitchens!

Its that time and I am madly getting quotes for our new kitchen. It won't be our last kitchen (oh no, moving is in my blood with my parents being builders and me now living in 21 houses in the past 28 years!) and at some stage may even be a rental kitchen so I need to keep it as functional, durable, cost effective and neutral as possible.

I am loving the white on white with the stainless steel appliances, draws, draws and more draws. I find that I loose so much space with standard cupboards.

My dream kitchen would also comprise of polished concrete floors (maybe even bench top), bi-fold servery, galley style bench in marble and a glass splash back with my special touch wallpaper. And for mt fridge and dishwasher to be concealed behind the cabinetry. Oh how I can dream!

Happy Friday:-)
