Five Years Ago....

Five years ago Brad and I spent an eye opening, core shaking, learn a lot, breath taking year living in London. The day we arrived we knew only one family.... that is all... two adults and two children who I had not seen in over 7 years. We had each other, our passports, our bank account and a whole lot of desire to live a year just as us. Without realising, it was a test, not just on our relationship but also on ourselves. Could we survive a whole year on our own with no help from our much loved, friends and family back in Australia? That year, I remember spending a few sunny afternoons in Greenwich Park a short stroll from our council housing unit on the Thames simply, reading, chatting, drinking a few champagnes and simply watching the grass grow... oh how times have changed!!!

I saw this post tonight and it really threw me back to those simple moments.

What to choose, what to choose...

As you are all aware the fun part of the shoe box is well and truly underway... choosing of the colours! The kitchen is being installed on Tuesday, the tilers are currently prepping and tiling the bathrooms and all lights have been installed. This place is finally coming together, HALLELUJAH!!!! I literally and jumping out of my skin to see the kitchen and vanities installed and see how all the elements are working together. Tuesday I am off to choose carpet and the last of the bathroom fixtures. Yay, yay, yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But, in the mean time, I am dreaming about a special something that will set the tone of the house and be a feature in the entrance to the house. No furniture will fit as it is a tight space where the staircase winds down and meets the front door and entrance into the open planned living areas. So... something bright and cheery is what I am looking for. I am going to attempt to let my creative side fly and produce the piece myself. These are some of the pieces that have caught my eye and are inspiring me right now.

A little sneak peak as to what is to come.... I am completely in love with my kitchen tap which I paid a fraction of the price at auction and my pendant feature lights which will be positioned over the kitchen island bench.

Not long now... painters have two walls left internally, electrician is fitting the lights as I write and tiler is beginning to work his magic. Fingers crosssed all is smooth sailing for the next month at the shoe box!!!

Happy Anniversary

Seven years ago today I married the LOVE OF MY LIFE. He is not only my soul mate and lover, but also my best friend and amazing father to our children. I feel that our love has definetly grown stronger over the last 7 years and the trust and bond that we share is something that I am so very proud of.

In the last seven years we have managed to pack in 2 gorgeous children, 12 months living in London, a trip round the world, the beginning and development of a new business, a divorce, many, many soccer games, losses of close family, 5 houses, 3 cars.... sounds exhausting!

Looking to the next seven years, I do hope it is as jam packed with as many core shaking, breath taking moments, as the last. I am hoping for even more adventures that help us grow.

Fabulous Friday

This morning I woke up to a call from my dad with a move in date! May long weekend, WE ARE A MOVIN'!!! Crack open the bubbly cause finally our much loved, much anticipated, much stressed upon... what started out as only a vision, will finally be (almost) complete!!!

In the meantime I still have a lot to sort including lights, the colours of our bedroom wall and the study. Right now I am loving these,
